Team Yamamoto Tip of the Day

7 January 2009 - Tip the scales in your favor by using scent

It's no secret that I'm a fan of the double-hook worm rigs such as Westy's Worm. Although frustrating at times due to snags, the exposed two-hooker produces fish in tough conditions. But it's not a perfect bait, lacking the soft consistency of a Yamamoto bait, as well as the salt. Nowadays I still use the Westy's in selected circumstances but not without stacking the odds in my favor. I dose up the whole bag with Yamamoto Attractant. The combination of salt and amino acid-based scent makes a difference. This is just the type of detail that can turn the tide when a tournament win hangs in the balance by mere ounces.
